Our story began in July of 2022 when Colin was performing at a theater in the town where Sam lived. We found each other on Tinder but quickly set up a call that would last over two hours. We had planned a time to hang out in person a week later, but a few days passed, and Sam couldn’t wait any longer. He needed to see Colin. So he insisted on a bike ride a couple of hours from then, and Colin excitedly agreed. We rode along the river until we came to a stopping point at a bench under a beautiful tree. We sat and talked and laughed and could feel that this was the beginning of something very special. Safe to say, we didn’t spend a day apart until Colin’s contract was up. However, it wasn’t long before Colin would be coming back for another show that winter. Nothing was going to keep him from spending the holidays with Sam.

Though it was never Sam’s plan, Colin (with some help from friends) had convinced him to move to New York, knowing he’d be working Off-Broadway in no time. So he did…and he has (several times over ;). The next few years contained so much change and ups and downs where we’d find further connection and support in each other. That helped prove to us that we could keep doing this forever.

In June of 2026, Sam asked Colin for another bike ride along that same path from their first date. We got to that tree, and after a few minutes on that bench, Sam got down on one knee and sealed the deal. Little did he know that Colin had suspected this would happen! Once the ring was on Colin’s finger, he surprised Sam by kneeling down and giving him his own ring! And on August 7th, 2027, we’ll be tying the knot right in front of that same bike path. Where else?! We’re so excited to celebrate with all of you as our bikes ride past this next mile marker of our lives. :)
